Financial Literacy
The Financial Literacy course is available to all students at Walter Maginnis High School. It is important for students to possess the knowledge of how to build a foundation of strong money habits and avoid the many mistakes that can lead to lifelong money struggles. The curriculum used is Next Generation Personal Finance. This coursework offers highly informative and useful lessons, which challenge students to gain a deeper understanding of financial math. Topics include checking/savings, budgeting and wise spending, types of credit, long term investing, paying taxes, the importance of insurance, and financial pitfalls.
